Red Bull Music Academy Tour posters by Another Kind and furniture maker Dale Kirk

Design studio Another Kind has enlisted the expertise of furniture designer and artist Dale Kirk to produce a series of colourful, minimalist visuals for Red Bull Music Academy’s 2016 UK Tour.

The set designs were composed in wood and photographed, then the colours digitally manipulated to create four different identities for each of the UK cities that will play host to the tour. The arrangements form abstract representations of Liverpool, Glasgow, London and Leeds, the skylines streamlined to their most fundamental of identifiable elements.

“We came up with some minimal shapes built out of wood in Dale’s workshop…wanting to develop an easily recognisable cityscape route but in the end I think we managed to strike a nice balance between abstract and familiar city connotations,” says Patrick Perring, digital designer at Another Kind.

The images have been implemented across the tour’s website, social media channels and posters.

The Red Bull Music Academy’s 2016 UK Tour takes place in October.
