Nicer Tuesdays LA: Get tickets for Debbie Millman, Micaiah Carter and Bijou Karman in November!

Tickets are now available for our final Nicer Tuesdays event of the year in LA! See out 2026 with some creative inspiration – November’s line up is set to offer up some unmissable insights into the world of fashion, photography, image making and design.

We’re sneaking in one last extra special Nicer Tuesdays event over the pond and coming back to Los Angeles in November to wrap up 2026 with a killer line-up set to take the LA stage. Come and join us at Lodge Room, 104 N Ave 56 2nd floor Los Angeles, California 90042, on Tuesday 10 November!

At November’s event, you’ll be hearing talks from photographer and director Micaiah Carter, renowned for his portraits of Black cultural icons and personal photo stories celebrating the beauty of Black communities. Carter’s work has reached across industries, directing music videos, shooting album covers and shaping seminal campaigns for clients including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Apple and Nike. Also joining us on stage will be fashion obsessed multi-disciplinary artist Bijou Karmen whose practice seamlessly integrates painting, illustration, and graphic design. Bijou’s work has appeared internationally in a variety of printed formats, in gallery walls and across campaigns – most recently making its mark on the visual world of Olivia Rodrigo’s festival Daisy Chain Fields.

Last but not least, designer, educator, writer and founder of Design Matters, Debbie Millman will be sitting down with our LA Nicer Tuesdays host Meg Farmer for our first ever Q&A in LA! One of the most influential figures working in the industry today, Debbie’s career sits at the intersection of design, storytelling and cultural commentary. Founder and host of Design Matters, one of the first and longest-running podcasts in the world (which turned 20 last year!), she has interviewed more than 700 of the world’s most creative thinkers and makers and has written several pioneering books on design. Nothing short of an icon, the designer will be discussing her career to date and the most valuable lessons she’s learnt from decades of research in the field.

The event will take place on Tuesday 10 November at Lodge Room, Los Angeles. Doors will open at 7pm and the talks will begin around 7:30pm. The full address is Lodge Room, 104 N Ave 56 2nd floor Los Angeles, California 90042. The venue itself does not offer street parking however there is plenty of street parking available nearby. This is a seated event, so get there early to ensure a seat!

Micaiah Carter’s images have left an unmistakable mark on visual culture and established him as one of the most exciting figures working in portraiture and fashion today, shaping campaigns for the likes of clients like Vogue, Vanity Fair, Apple and Nike. The photographer and director is acclaimed for his portraits of Black cultural icons such as Zendaya, Pharrell, and Solange, using the lens as a force for representation and change as well as personal photo projects that celebrate the beauty of Black communities in America. Micaiah will be taking to the stage at this final Nicer Tuesday’s event to unveil some of the insights behind his career to date – from directing music videos, to shooting covers for some of the largest magazines and publishing his debut monograph: What’s My Name.

Fashion-obsessed artist and designer Bijou Karmen has worked on all kinds of projects across fine art, commercial illustration and design, with her drawings featured in campaigns, large scale installations and on the walls of galleries. Amongst this multidisciplinary practice, self publishing is the one thing that has been most consistent for the designer. We recently spoke to Bijou about her Zine Peace Eye and the artist has since gone on to produce the official Daisy Chain Fields Zine for Olivia Rodrigo. Bijou will be giving the Nicer Tuesdays crowd a look behind the scenes at her graphic design and illustration work through the lens of self publishing and print, uncovering everything that comes from committing to the “nonsensical” personal projects you want to pursue.

We had the honour of interviewing designer, writer and educator Debbie Millman last year on 20 years of the Design Matters podcast, and nothing sums up her approach more than her marking this significant anniversary by saying: “I’m just getting started.” The complete powerhouse of a designer has been a force in the industry for decades, interviewing hundreds of design icons over her career and writing several pioneering books that have steered fresh and critical approaches in the field. Debbie will be joining It’s Nice That’s LA Nicer Tuesday’s host Meg Farmer on stage for our first ever Q&A to look back at the history of the pioneering podcast and her incredible research and career to date.
