What a year it’s been for Nicer Tuesdays. Not only have we held eight sell-out events in the UK, in June we held our first ever event in New York! It’s always been a dream of ours to hold a Nicer Tuesdays event outside of London, and it couldn’t have gone any better, with New York’s creativity community welcoming us with open arms. Eric Hu’s valuable mediation on AI has made one of the top spots, as well as Shawna X’s talk on her stunning railway installation, Elliot Ulm’s talk on why he doesn’t actually do graphic design, and Andre D. Wagner’s expansive look into his career as one of New York’s most celebrated street photographers working today.
Back here in London, our brand new Q&A slot saw some stars take to the stage, including the hilarious Joe Lycett, who told us why making “shit” was better than making nothing, Aries Moross who advocated for a more inclusive industry, Wilfrid Wood who gave us a lesson in portraiture, and Es Devlin who delved deep into her illustrious 30 year career. Meanwhile, Timi Akindele-Ajani taught us the Three T’s of magic storytelling, Wieden+Kennedy whisked us through its strange yet brilliant chicken-filled ad, Yonk showed us just how fun VR can really be, and Where are the Black Designers? gave us a vital look at how the design industry can rectify its systematic lack of representation. So without further or do, settle down and get ready to watch.
