Artwork for anyone that’s looking: Bill Rebholz on taking ‘trash’ and turning it into beautiful vernacular signs

Artist and illustrator Bill Rebholz takes to the LA Nicer Tuesdays stage to talk about how his background in street art and sign painting has shaped his creative practice. A world of floating information, slightly untethered from more traditional conventions of composition, Bill outlines how vernacular city signage has influenced and informed the artwork he’s made to date in technique and construction. The artist demonstrates how ordinary things can become important when we take what is typically discarded and scale it, elevating it to the status of treasure.
