Yinka Ilori designs an exclusive print ahead of the Brit Awards
London furniture designer Yinka Ilori has teamed dup with Universal Music to create a special edition print ahead of the Brit Awards next week. The print, titled Love in a line Yinka says "is celebration of our multiculturalism and reminds us that being different is beautiful and okay, which is something I wanted to celebrate through the artwork.”
Yinka’s furniture design is typified by his pops of colourful geometric lines that nod to Nigerian aesthetics of patterned print, and his works aim to tell a story about where we are and where we’re going, exploring everything from classes equality and the fun oral storytelling culture he grew up surrounded by.
His print will be gifted to each of Universal’s nominees ahead of the Brit Awards next week, which means that the Londoner’s designs may bestow the homes of Drake, Ariana Grande and Sam Smith, to name a few.
Later this year Yinka will design this summer’s Dulwich Pavilion, a temporary outdoor structure which will open at Dulwich Picture Gallery during the London Festival of Architecture in June.
