World Architecture Festival announces 2016 awards shortlist
The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced its 2016 awards shortlist, with the UK, Turkey and Australia nominated for the highest amount of projects. The not-so-shortlist features 343 projects from homes to shops, schools and landscape projects, by major firms such as Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, AHMM, Bjarke Ingels Group and Neri & Hu, alongside smaller practices unknown outside their home countries, given the opportunity for global recognition.
Below is a small selection of the projects nominated for this year’s awards, which will be judged by a panel at WAF in Berlin from 16—18 November. Winners of 32 categories will compete for World Building of the Year and Future Project of the Year. Last year’s World Building of the Year winner was The Interlace in Singapore by OMA.
