Trump protest pins by Sagmeister & Walsh, Hort, Olimpia Zagnoli and more
Sagmeister & Walsh has launched Pins Won’t Save the World, a range of pin badges and other ephemera that protest Donald Trump, encourage people to vote for Hillary, and “promote love, tolerance and kindness”.
The range of pins, T-shirts, posters, stickers and temporary tattoos include designs by Sagmeister & Walsh, Hort, Olimpia Zagnoli, Brian Rea, Jean Jullien, Timothy Goodman, Ward Sutton, Will Bryant, Coucou Suzette, AdamJK, RoAndCo Studio and Jon Contino.
“We can’t stand by and let a racist, misogynistic, homophobic man become president of the United States,” says Jessica Walsh. “We want everyone to be able to wear their heart, and politics, on their sleeves, or bags or jackets… we are well aware that pins won’t save the world, but wearing them will at least make us feel a little better, and convincing our liberal friends, especially in swing states, to remember to register and vote for Hillary could make a world of difference."
The idea behind creating pin badges is to appeal to younger voters, Jessica explains, as only 26% of millennials voted in the 2012 election, accounting for around 48m missed votes.
Profits will be donated to Amnesty International’s #americaIbelievein charity.
