Polish design practice Syfon Studio teaches us a thing or two about poster design
Posters don’t need to be arduous, intricately composed affairs to do the job at hand. As Polish graphic design practice Syfon Studio proves, all you need is an eye-catching motif, a strong colour palette and some experimental typography to secure your viewer’s attention. Founded by Ursula Janowska and Filip Tofil, a pair who met at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Syfon has a knack for unfussy, playful work, demonstrated perhaps most effectively in this series of posters made for an exhibition of poster design at the Institute of Design Kielce. Mixing traditional techniques with fun motifs and using a strict three-colour printing technique, the resulting series is a barrel of laughs.
