December’s Nicer Tuesdays kicked off with a bang and a barrel of laughs thanks to illustrator Clarice Tudor and her uniquely creative way of seeing. Rounding up another year of creative talks (not to mention the extremely trying year that was 2020) Clarice took us through the importance of humour and how it can be aptly used to make heavy topics feel more comfortable. Something this illustrator does with effortless ease.

From the moment she started speaking, Clarice had our audience chuckling. With witty one liners coming thick and fast she took us on a tour of past work, each illustration as hilarious as the next. From tips on “How to roast boys that hurt you and call it art” to advice on why you should draw your enemies as a flower, Clarice’s Nicer Tuesdays is a must-watch for any creatively-minded soul looking for a motivational pick me up. As well as laughs galore (including an anecdote which saw the rising illustrator’s gran ask her ‘What’s a savage flex wig?’) Clarice’s talk also sheds light on how she navigates the minefield that is scoring commissions and importantly touches on how she creates a visual gag in the first place.
