Jun Cen's illustrations are full of texture and life

Jun Cen’s illustrations demonstrate a flair for texture and composition, with each frame containing a narrative of its own. The illustrator currently lives in New York, but was born in Guangzhou, China – “a subtropical city with warm and humid weather”, he says – and his internationally jet-setting lifestyle imbues the colours and climates of his work. Among his client list are The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, and Oxford University Press.

An open book displays two pages of printed text. The right page features a column of text, while the left page contains several paragraphs and a bold section that reads “His recovering work in delivering us from the power of sin. Is experienced not only in having peace with God but also in knowing the peace of God.”

An open book shows a double-page spread with a red right-hand page and an illustration on the left. The text reads “Forgiving Ourselves*” with a smaller note stating “*Why the Bible Never Mentions It”. The illustration depicts two figures standing in a stylised, rocky landscape beside a body of water. Green foliage and cacti surround them under a pale sky.
