Director collective Canada creates raunchy, psychedelic video for Tame Impala (NSFW)
Spanish collective Canada has shot Australian band Tame Impala’s latest video for the track The Less I know The Better. The film is a raunchy and bizarre tale of high school lust and all the outrageous emotions that go with it. A mix of live action and animation, a love triangle between a basketball player, a cheerleader and the school mascot – an apeman called Trevor – plays out in slick technicolour all laced with Canada’s golden touch.
“We wanted to do something colourful and sexy, pretty close to the psychedelic spirit of the band,” says Canada. “We were interested in establishing interest between the characters: he loves her but she prefers another one, so, as the title says, the less this guy knows about her and him, the better. Which is something quite difficult to ignore when you’re aware of it.” Trippy and tongue-in-cheek, some scenes are not for the faint-hearted. But if you enjoy rhythmic dancing, sultry looks and a whole load of cross-species writhing around, this video is for you.
