Digital agency Waste is looking for love this Valentine's day
Have you ever been seduced by a lonely hearts ad in your local paper? Or grabbed a job advertisement stuck on the billboard of your local supermarket? If not, digital agency Waste is appealing to both these analogue ideas of the past this Valentine’s day by posting ads outside their office inviting you to take them with you.
The simple idea, of what they call “badly photocopied” flyposted ads invite you to tear off their contacts and get in touch with the agency, who has previously worked with the likes of British Gas, Nintendo and Warner, with a nod to encouraging physical engagement in a digital working world. The baby pink ads, which aim to target potential new clients can be seen around the city, hoping to be torn.
Speaking about the project, associate creative director Andrew Bentham says: “This year, we wanted to do something a little different as a digital agency, so we turned to our design team – and the photocopier – to create some playful, analogue and ‘tearable’ ads, riffing on social dating language,” he explains of the project.
“If it makes someone chuckle on the street, then great; if a potential client rips off a tab and calls us, even more so. But even if they don’t, we’ve still had a lot of fun messing around with the photocopier."
