Sagmeister & Walsh launches Sorry I Have No Filter, selling merch to champion creative women

Sagmeister & Walsh has launched Sorry I Have No Filter, a huge online store of merchandise being sold to raise money for its not-for-profit feminist initiative, Ladies, Wine & Design. The range includes posters, T-shirts, jackets, pins, cushions, socks, hats, mugs, stickers, phone cases and more, over which Jessica Walsh has led creative direction working with a design team including Daniel Brokstad, Angela Iannarelli, Fumi Omori, Gabriella Namie and Rachel Denti.

Ladies, Wine & Design launched two years ago, inspired by personal experiences Jessica Walsh had with online criticism and trolling, which she wrote about here. Finding that much of the sexism and hatred directed at her was coming from women, she sought to create a platform by which creative women support and champion other creative women in the industry.

“Depending on the country you live in, only 5-12% of creative directors or CEOs are women,” Jessica says. “Our initiative is to mentor, champion, and foster creative women through free global events such as talks, salon nights, mentorship circles, and more. Our goal through LWD is to bring women together to form positive relationships so we can lift each other up, share resources and inspiration, and help propel each other forward.”

The LWD platform hosts talks and workshops around the world and has chapters in over 180 countries, brought together via its dedicated website. Sorry I Have No Filter aims to raise funds to stage larger events, meet-ups and more over the coming years.

The project follows Sagmeister & Walsh’s hugely successful Pins Won’t Save the World project, which raised over $100,000 with 100% of profits going to charities under threat of Trump’s administration.
