The 2016 Pirelli Calendar released, featuring Patti Smith, Amy Schumer and Tavi Gevinson

The new Pirelli Calendar shot by Annie Leibovitz has been released and showcases 12 women recognised for their achievements rather than their bodies. Featuring women like Patti Smith, Serena Williams, Yoko Ono and Tavi Gevinson, the 2016 edition of the world-famous calendar marks a significant turn away from its provocative history. Its release comes just after Playboy magazine’s decision to discontinue nudity in its pages in October, although Pirelli has been careful to credit Annie Leibovitz for the about-face rather than denouncing the calendar’s history.
