Nicolas Ménard’s animation for Ray-Ban oozes kaleidoscopic cool
French-Canadian illustrator Nicolas Ménard ended 2015 in spectacular fashion with this 30-second animation he created for Ray-Ban’s new shop in New York’s Wooster Street. Used as an outdoor projection, the short film was illustrated and directed by Nicolas and sees the classic Ray-Ban frames in groovy graphic form.
The psychedelic imagery and surreal scenarios capture the energy of New York and the timeless design of Ray-Ban glasses. The fluidity in the illustrator’s work has hypnotised us in the past, and here he uses a tunnel-like perspective to draw the audience in.
