Benedikt Luft's Daily Drawings are a surreal quotidian treat

Date
18 July 2016

It’s been just over a year since we found out about illustrator Benedikt Luft and his “mad shit,” and since then he’s been busy with a raft of commercial and personal projects. Alongside projects including Cannes Lions postcards and Zeit Campus, he’s completed a wonderful Daily Drawings series that captures everyday life in glorious colourful snippets. There’s a fair bit of visual punnery at play too, with a particular highlight being A Shoulder to Cry On – a poignant little depiction of a man with a long neck crying on his own shoulder. As a series, it’s a lovely portrait of one man’s world, viewed through his unusual, off-beat, brightly hued lens.
