Rome-based Andrea Chronopoulos’ illustrations are quirky and a little bit cheeky
Greece-born, Italy-based Andrea Chronopoulos’ portfolio is full of personal work and editorial illustrations for various Italian magazines. Andrea’s still finding his signature style and his work is reminiscent of other illustrators like Kyle Platts and Martina Paukova, yet the quirky and unusual situations he places his characters in offers something a little different.
Neatly constructed we see a topless girl on her laptop, a seemingly debonair man with a smoking and drinking problem and a cool looking photoshoot. A mix of single images and mini comic strips, there’s a cheekiness to Andrea’s work and his colour palette keeps it looking fresh rather than naive. As well as working individually, Andrea is also part of Studio Pilar, an illustrator collective and independent publisher based in Rome.
